About Scully

Animal ID: A5734989 Date Admitted to County Care: 2025-11-05T00:00:00 Animal Type: DOG Availability Status: Ready to go home Primary Breed: SIBERIAN HUSKY Primary Color: BROWN Sex: Female Size: MED Weight: 31.6 Age: 1 years 0 months πŸΆπŸ’— Meet Scully! πŸ’—πŸΆ Lovely Scully is a gentle, thoughtful girl who takes her time feeling safe around new dog friends. 🌸🐾 She started her session relaxed, greeting other dogs softly through the fence and exploring the yard with a loose, easy body. When dogs approached calmly, she tolerated soft greetings and even sought affection from handlers with a sweet, open-mouth smile. πŸ₯°πŸ’› Scully can feel uncomfortable when dogs rush up to her face, offering appropriate warnings like air snaps or showing her teeth ? and other dogs respected her boundaries. She?s much more at ease with dogs who approach slowly or from behind, and she relaxes when surrounded by calm, respectful companions. πŸ•βœ¨ November 05, 2025 E25-089600 PLAYGROUP PALMDALE A5734989 The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out-or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She was relaxed with soft eyes as the runner clasped the collar around her neck easily. She had soft eyes and a neutral tail wag as she greeted several dogs through the play yard fence. She entered the play yard with a loose body and kept to herself as she explored. After a few minutes, a small male pit bull came up to her. Scully raised her hackles with concerned eyes, tolerating him as he sniffed her body. She then approached a handler to solicit affection with a loose body and open mouth pant. She was wary of a male collie who came up playfully, leaning away from him with concerned eyes and declining his attempt at play. She was not comfortable with dogs coming up to her quickly and would air snap or expose her teeth as warnings. Her warnings were appropriate and respected by the other dogs. A male pit bull did not respect her boundaries and received an air snap in his face for coming up and play bowing. This warning was respected. She appeared to be uncomfortable with dogs coming up to her face playfully but was tolerant and did not offer any corrections who came up from behind. She was tolerant of them pawing or jumping on her back playfully. She did relax slightly while in the yard, tolerating playful dogs near her but remained wary. She was comfortable with calm dogs coming up to greet her. She did not display any play style while in the yard.
