The person that called it in stated they witnessed someone drop him off from a car in the road. Sanders is scared, but he is not reactive. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.? He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with concerned eyes and a low tail. He was approached by two dogs at the same time. He was tolerant of them sniffing him, but he had concerned eyes and a tucked tail as they sniffed him. After the dogs broke away, he began to roam the yard timidly and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him, but he would have a tucked tail. After a short time, he began to grow a little in confidence and exchange timid greetings with other dogs. As time passed, he continued to grow in confidence and now began to roam the yard with a relaxed demeanor and had a low tail wag. He began to approach other dogs more confidently and exchange soft greetings with them. He continued to grow in confidence and began to offer play bows to other dogs. He remained playful and social for the rest of his time in the yard, engaging in gentle/dainty play with other dogs. He would approach the handlers and seek affection. Sanders is social with the other dogs and prefers a gentle/dainty play style. He just may need some time to warm up with new dogs. He will need socialization to walking on leash.
