Animal ID: A5734990 Date Admitted to County Care: 2025-11-05T00:00:00 Animal Type: DOG Availability Status: Ready to go home Primary Breed: SIBERIAN HUSKY Primary Color: BROWN Sex: Male Size: MED Weight: 46.6 Age: 1 years 0 months Meet Mulder, a sweet, observant pup who just needs a little time to settle in πŸ’›. He followed his runner calmly and was easy to collar, showing a loose, trusting body. Though he started out unsure around new dogs?with wide eyes and raised hackles?Mulder warmed up beautifully as he explored. He offered soft greetings to calm dogs, relaxed more with each interaction, and even leaned in for gentle pets when he felt comfortable πŸ₯ΉπŸ’™. Mulder tolerated playful pups politely, chose calm company, and stayed social and steady throughout his time in the yard. This low-energy sweetheart simply needs patience and a peaceful environment to thrive. ✨ Behaviorally OK for Public Adoption ? Best with Calm Dogs ✨ Low-Energy, Gentle, and Eager to Feel Safe November 05, 2025 E25-089599 PLAYGROUP PALMDALE A5734990 The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out-or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. He shadowed the runner with a loose body, allowing the collar to be clasped around his neck easily. He had wide eyes, hackles raised and a stiff tail as he greeted several dogs through the play yard fence. He entered the yard slowly with a tense body and hackles raised. A playful male collie came up to greet him. Mulder neck pressed and hovered over the collie as he tolerated the collie sniffing his body. He spent the next few minutes calmly roaming the yard keeping to himself. A female terrier came up to him calmly. Mulder exchanged a soft greeting with her, remaining loose as she lingered near his muzzle. He exchanged several more greetings while roaming and appeared to relax slightly each time. He then spent a few moments receiving affection from a handler, leaning his back end against the handler. He did not ever approach a handler for affection specifically but was comfortable with them petting him whenever he came near them. He was wary of the collie coming up to entice him for play but did not offer any warnings. He eventually began approaching other dogs with a loose body and open mouth pant, exchanging good greetings. A female Doberman enticed him for play on a few occasions, pawing at his face and neck rapidly. He tolerated the contact, declining her attempts. He remained calm and social for the rest of his time in the yard. He needs time to acclimate to new surroundings and new dogs.
