A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by two dogs and tolerated them sniffing him, displaying passive appeasement behavior. After the dogs broke away, he began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and began to exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. He playfully pawed at a male husky, and they engaged in gentle/dainty play. He remained playful and social for the rest of his time in the yard. But he would easily become overwhelmed by higher contact during play and began to over correct other dogs for this. He is a young puppy that needs continued socialization and to further build his confidence with other dogs. He is social with the other dog and prefers a gentle/dainty play style. He would do best with a calmer dog to allow him to gam more confidence.
