A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. Kera A5686764 (Altered) stood calmly at the front of the kennel upon the runner's arrival, allowing herself to be retrieved without issue. She led the way to the catch pen with a moderate pull on the leash, bypassing her neighboring kennels. Kera was easily collared and leashed inside the catch pen prior to entering the yard. Kera exchanged greetings with some of the dogs, exhibiting a timid demeanor, though her posture was neutral with a soft tail wag during the interactions. Following the introduction, she approached the handlers, appearing comfortable in their presence while soliciting affection from them. For the rest of the session, Kera remained next to the handlers while observing the other dogs interact from a distance. Once the session concluded, she was returned to her kennel without incident. Kera could benefit from continued socialization in a yard setting with calm dogs, as this may allow her to interact at her own comfort level and gradually develop her social skills.
