Boop

Boop is an adoptable female Hound looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Boop, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

Due to kennel capacity this animal will be euthanized today without confirmed placement 08/22/2026 Dog is laying down in kennel upon approach with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears and a tucked tail. She displays sociability with handler by coming over to greet with a tense body, wide eyes and a low wagging tail where she is not interested in treats offered by hand. She is easy to leash and walk outside where she walks slowly on leash, seemingly following nearby dogs walking on leash. She maintains space from handlers with a tense body, wide eyes and a tucked tail. She displays sociability with dogs at barrier by greeting appropriately with a tense body and a tucked tail. She is easy to return to kennel where she walks slowly on leash. 08/24/2026 Dog was evaluated with Helen (A821684) for co-housing. Dog initially displayed mild hesitation during leashing but responded to verbal encouragement and allowed collaring and leashing. Dog required some additional encouragement to continue walking from the kennel but proceeded appropriately. In the yard, Dog greeted Helen appropriately with mutual sniffing. The dogs coexisted calmly and continued to voluntarily remain near one another rather than separating within the yard. When placed together in the kennel, Dog shared the space appropriately with Helen, and both dogs subsequently settled independently.
