Jillian James

Jillian James is an adoptable female Retriever looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. She is fully grown and medium in size. 08/18/2026 Play Group Dog allowed affection from handlers and was tense and was walked into the play yard. Dog displayed sociability with male and female dogs by co-existing with a tense body with dogs that respected her space as she was nervous. She mainly stood near the front by the entrance gate. She was easy to return to kennel. 08/18/2026 Dog is nervous in kennel with a tense and trembling body, wide eyes, pinned ears and a low tail. She is able to adjust as handler speaks softly to her and displays sociability with handler by coming over to greet with a tense body and a low wagging tail and is easy to leash and walk outside where she walks well on leash. She displays sociability with all handlers by coming over affection with a loose body and a wagging tail where she follows handler around yard seemingly interested in continued affection. She displays sociability with dogs at barrier by greeting appropriately with a loose body and a wagging tail. She is easy to return to kennel. 08/19/2026 Play Group: Dog displays sociability with all handlers and is able to be leashed and walked outside. She displays sociability with male and female dogs observed with by greeting appropriately and coexisting with a loose body and a wagging tail. She is tense with raised hackles and a high tail when greeting a specific female dog. She is unable to adjust and is easy to return to kennel. 08/21/2026 Cohouse interaction. Dog immediately walks to a corner of the yard with a tense body to urinate and defecate. She allows other dogs to greet her with a tense body and high wagging tail. She is most interested in walking around the yard independently. She was not selected to cohouse with any candidates at this time.
