Lady

Lady is an adoptable female Dutch Shepherd looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. She is fully grown and large in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with just one day left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Lady, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

08/20/2026 Dog was previously involved in a bite incident in 2023 Dog is laying down upon approach with a tense body, wide eyes and a tucked tail. She displays sociability with me by coming over to barrier to greet with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears and a tucked tail. She retreats as I attempt to leash her where she is given space and is interested in treats offered to her on ground. She is easy to leash while eating treats and walks out of kennel easily. She walks slowly on leash where she maintains a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears and a low tail. As we walk near other dogs she is seemingly fearful of them by flinching away from them with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears, hackles and a tucked tail where she is easy to redirect. She displays sociability with all handlers by greeting them with a tense body, pinned ears and a low tail where she is most interested in coexisting in yard and lays in grass. She displays sociability with dogs at barrier by greeting appropriately with a tense body, pinned ears and a low tail. She is easy to return to kennel where she walks slowly on leash.
