Ollie is an adoptable male American Staffordshire Terrier looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. He is a young adult and medium in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with just one day left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Ollie, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.


08/02/2025 Pup displayed sociability by coming over for affection with a wagging tail and loose body and taking treats gently by hand. 08/05/2025 Dog displayed sociability by coming over for affection with a wagging tail and loose, wiggly body. He is easy to leash and walk outside. He displayed sociability with another similar sized young male dog by attempting to engage in play with a loose body and wagging tail. Other dog was nervous at times and snapped at him where he walked away on his own and attempted to interact again. He was easily returned to his kennel. 08/21/2026 Owner surrendered due to behavior - incompatible energy level. Reported to be house trained and social with dogs. Dog displays sociability with handler by coming over to greet with a loose, wiggly body and a wagging tail and is easy to leash and walk outside where he pulls heavily on leash and runs to end of leash. He displays sociability with all handlers by coming over and jumping up onto handlers for treats and affection with a loose, wiggly body and a wagging tail. He is observed attempting to dig out of yard where he is easy to redirect. He is stressed after being redirected by pacing in yard, continuing to jump up onto barrier near handlers and vocalizing toward nearby handlers with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears, wrinkled forehead, tight commissures of the mouth and a high wagging tail. He displays reactivity with dogs through barrier by growling and stepping toward dogs through barrier with a tense body, raised hackles, pinned ears and a low tail. He is returned to kennel where he continues to pull heavily on leash. He vocalizes after I walk away from kennel.
