Max is an adoptable male Shepherd looking for a home at LA Animal Services - West Valley in Chatsworth, California. He is fully grown and large in size. Max continues to show behavior concerns in the shelter including charging the front of the kennel, snapping, and jumping with eyes dilated. Max has been in playgroups and shows obnoxious greetings but is generally steerable and affliative towards people. Max will become frustrated when other dogs do no engage in play but again tends to be steerable when his name is called. Max also has had behavior concerns during feeding time where he lunges and snarls indicating significant food-related reactivity/resource guarding. Max needs to be out of the shelter enviornment and with an experienced dog handler.
