Jesse is an adoptable male Labrador Retriever looking for a home at Riverside County Animal Services-Riverside in Jurupa Valley, California. He is a young adult and large in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 5 days left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Jesse, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

STAFF OBSERVATIONS 08/30/25 14:27 Staff moved dogs out for spot cleaning and I heard the altercation. When I approached the kennel from the outside A1857827 and 1854429 were in an altercation. Staff was able to separate dogs and took both dogs to be evaluated by vet satff. I did not see who started the altercation. Dogs will be kenneled alone at this time. 08/30/25 14:52 Moved dogs out for spot cleaning when I heard commotion of dogs altercation. Assisted senior staff members to separate dogs. 01/18/26 13:41 - Dog walked well on leash. Presented social behaviors with handler and other dogs in play yard. 01/29/26 11:31 Dog participated in a playgroup today. Dog was observed as soft and fearful. 03/13/26 Dog participated in playgroup style today. 03/24/26 Dog participated in playgroup style today. MEDICAL NOTES 05/14/25 16:22 negative scan, fearfu, but able to handle, tick infested, flystrike AU and on top of head, healing, no need to rx meds, otherwise appears healthy. 05/18/25 18:04 BAR. Noticed diarrhea (FS6) in kennel during walkthrough. Unable to collect sample for Giardia/ parvo test at the moment due to kennel getting washed before sample collected. RX: Endosorb 2 tabs PO BID x 3 days. May need to collect stool sample for diagnostics if diarrhea does not resolve. 05/24/25 10:48 BAR. Appears to have multiple circular lesion along face- base of right ear, top of head, and along base of left lower muzzle. Wood's lamp positive for fluorescence- suspect ringworm. Collected DTM culture. RX: Itraconazole: 11cc PO SID x 7 days, Keflex 500mg PO BID x 10 days. 06/06/25 14:29 Patient is BAR. No new observable lesions and prior lesions appear to be less active and decreasing in diameter. Still woods lamp positive, but appears to be resolving. Ok to proceed with course #2 of Itrafungol as per protoco. attempted to vaccinate, unable without help/sedation 06/09/25 13:25 DTM Negative. Will continue to finish itraconazole Tx due to fluorescence and positive response to medication thus far. 06/21/25 09:27 Re weighed for last dose of 5th week course of itraconazole. 15.7ml po sid for 7 days. 08/20/25 08:28 P was seen having an abrasion on the top of head, unable to fully assess due to P temperament. Will monitor for increased swelling and intervene with Dr care if needed. 08/30/25 14:35 Dog was in altercation with kennel mate. Bitewounds on right medial carpus, left lateral carpus and elbow. R/L side of face and top of head. Rx Keflex 750 mg 1 cap po bid x14d. Rx Rimadyl 150 mg po sid x5d per protocol. 10/27/25 14:18 P is BAR, appears healthy. Okay to booster DA2PP-L SQ RTL. 12/08/25 NEUTERED 01/01/26 10:53 Transfer. Visual exam done.BAR, Appears healthy at this time. No vaccines due. 01/02/26 10:34 Gave bordetella booster. 07/05/26 15:41 Admin bordatella.
