Hunter

Hunter is an adoptable male Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Riverside County Animal Services-Riverside in Jurupa Valley, California. He is a young adult and large in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 5 days left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Hunter, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

STAFF OBSERVATIONS 07/23/25 13:05 Upon initial approach dog retreated to the back of the kennel. Dog was hesitant to be leashed up and did not walk, but they did allow the handler to carry them out to the play yard. While in the play yard dog was not interested in interacting with the handler and was pacing the fence looking for a way out. Has kennel mates . 01/08/26 Able to leash in kennel needs a little work on leash, but walks good. MEDICAL NOTES 07/16/25 16:25 ACO intake, neg mc scan, P has abrasion on left lateral stifle and left neck. P received dhlpp sq and bord in, vectra applied. 07/18/25 17:01 during Pm meds, VS noted FS 7 with blood in kennel, unable to test for giardia, neg-parvo. Per protocol metro unknown which P is producing, but all stools in kennel are > FS5. Per protocol metronizole 250 mg 1.5 tablet BID 5 days. 08/09/25 14:08 ACT noticed diarrhea with fresh blood in kennel, I tested the fecal in kennel for giardia and parvo both negative. Removed P from kennel and P had BM in recieving, Green/yellow watery diarrhea with fresh blood. Unknown if P was getting medicated proeprly due to all 4 dogs in kennel being on metro. Per protocol restarting Metro and placing P in dog iso for monitoring. P also has scab on left shoulder, sending a ringworm PCR as a precaution. 10/27/25 14:09 P is BAR, appears healthy.
