Avalanche is an adoptable male Siberian Husky looking for a home at Riverside County Animal Services-Riverside in Jurupa Valley, California. He is fully grown and medium in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 5 days left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Avalanche, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.
I am a neutered male, 48.00 lbs, black and white Siberian Husky. I have been at the shelter since Dec 10, 2025. I am an at risk animal. Please contact the shelter for more information. Behavior/Space - not doing well in shelter. Needs an adopter or rescue. Adopters visit in person. STAFF OBSERVATIONS 12/10/25 Did well on leash and didnt mind other dogs in sally port who were barking aggressively. 12/13/25 17:36 Appears to exhibit social behavior with handler from inside the kennel. Has kennel mate at time of observation. 12/16/25 Dog initially seemed timid. I allowed him to smell me for a moment and he warmed up quickly. Calm temperament, walks well on leash, and not dog reactive. 12/18/25 11:57 Upon approach, dog was on outside portion of kennel with a stiff body, tucked tail, ears back, and an adverted gaze. After a few moments of coaxing, dog approached and investigated handler, beginning to solicit attention with a loose body. Dog allowed handler to leash and walk to yard while slightly pulling on leash. While in yard, dog was calm, allowing constant interactions from handler, frequently taking breaks to explore yard. Dog allowed handler to leash and walk back to kennel without incident. 12/27/25 12:22 - Walked on leash to yard. Dog is social with handler and other dogs in play yard. 01/22/26 16:48 - Dog walked on leash to play yard. Social and playful with handler and other dogs in play yard. 01/27/26 15:25 Dog participated in a playgroup today. Dog was observed as tense and assertive during greetings, providing appropriate warning as needed. 02/20/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. 03/20/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. Dog was presenting hall monitor behaviors when other dogs are playing together. 04/04/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. 04/15/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. 04/23/26 Dog participated in playgroup style today. Dog appeared very tense with certain males. 05/01/26 Dog participated in individual yard time. 06/01/26 Dog participated in single session enrichment with kennel mate. 06/18/26 Dog participated in playgroup. 07/01/26 Dog participated in a playgroup style today. 07/14/26 Dog was out for playgroup. 07/30/26 Dog participated in playgroup. 08/12/26 Dog participated in play group style today. 08/25/26 Dog has \"feed sep\" on kennel card with no additional information at this time. MEDICAL NOTES 12/10/25 13:14 BAR, very sweet, appears intact M est age 5yr, mc scan -. Gave vectra, bord, dhlpp. 01/11/26 10:10 mFollow up on white board- Bloody + liquidy stool (confirmed stool + 2 Dog in one Kennel) -Giardia Snap test : Postive - Per Protocol - Drontal Plus - 1 SID x 3 days 01/22/26 16:27 Observed soft stools (fs=6/7), patient is BAR. Uncertain which patient is affected. Patient completed giardia tx two days ago, but possibly still symptomatic. Prescribed Panacur 11.5 ml PO SID x 5 days per protocol. 03/12/26 12:57 While walking by kennels, observed diarrhea in kennel(mulitple dogs in kennel) tested for Giardia, Test result negative Prescribed Endosorb 2.5 tabs BID x3days per protocol 05/05/26 17:22 BAR, appears healthy, although has lost weight since intake Admins Rabies and MC Going to Oquendo 05/22/26 13:39 oquendo return, BAR, - incision site appears to be healing well 07/05/26 15:45 Admin bordatella.
