Black

Black is an adoptable male Entlebucher looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. He is a young adult and medium in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Black, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

08/20/2026 Limited evaluation due to medical ' no outside observation at this time. Upon approach, dog is laying down in kennel with a tense and trembling body, wide eyes avoiding eye contact, pinned ears and a tucked tail. He is not interested in treats offered to him by hand nor on ground where he retreats away from me with same body language. He is easy to leash where he attempts to retreat further away from me with same body language. Leash is easy to remove and he is given space. Upon re-approach he is being carried out of kennel for routine husbandry where I take over handling. He is easy to carry to grass where he is interested to sniff in grass once set down. He displays sociability with all handlers by coming over to greet with a tense body, wide eyes and a low tail where he attempts to retreat away from handlers. He is easy to carry back to kennel.
