Olive is an adoptable female Terrier looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. 08/19/2026 Animal ID A815504 Due Out Date 08/24/2026 Kennel S3022 If kennel capacity is needed this pet could be euthanized after 08/25/2026 (S) Estimated Age 8 Months, BROWN, SHEPHERD / BLEND DOG Size MED Dog displays sociability with handler by coming over and jumping up onto barrier to greet with a loose, wiggly body and a wagging tail and is easy to leash and walk outside where she walks well on leash, pulling playfully at times. She displays sociability with all handlers by coming over and jumping up onto them for treats and affection with a loose body and a wagging tail. She is seemingly over aroused by jumping up and scratching at handlers where she is difficult to redirect. She displays reactivity toward dogs at barrier by growling and barking at them with a tense body, wide eyes, pinned ears, raised hackles and a high wagging tail. She is easy to return to kennel where she pulls on leash playfully. 08/24/2026 Dog was evaluated with Buddy (A822585) for co-housing. Dog was highly eager to exit the kennel and attempted to run through the open kennel door before being leashed. Dog was successfully leashed and walked outside. During the initial barrier greeting, Dog greeted Buddy appropriately with a wagging tail and reciprocal nose-to-nose sniffing. Once introduced, Dog immediately engaged in play. During play, Dog displayed some conflicted behavior, alternating between initiating play and displaying a slight snarl. The evaluator also observed this behavior in the kennel during periods of excitement and noted it may be part of Dog's individual behavioral presentation. Dog is a jumper and displayed jumping behavior toward the handler when ready to return inside. Dog and Buddy engaged in reciprocal play throughout the evaluation. Both dogs independently took breaks and subsequently sought each other out to resume interaction. Both dogs alternated initiating play and appeared to interact appropriately throughout the observation.
