Juicy is an adoptable female Black Mouth Cur looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Juicy. I am a female, brown Black Mouth Cur mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Jul 31, 2026. I am in kennel SOUTHC25. Weight: 50.2 lbs Intake date: 7/31/2026 ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Juicy arrived with bloody vaginal discharge and appeared to be an intact female. Possible causes noted included being in heat, UTI, or pyometra, and a urinalysis was recommended to rule out a UTI. On 8/17, Juicy developed a hacking cough and clear nasal discharge consistent with CIRD/URI. She completed 10 days of doxycycline (250 mg once daily). As of 8/27, Juicy had no remaining clinical signs and her CIRD was considered RESOLVED! She was cleared to leave the treatment kennel. She is Heartworm NEGATIVE, has been Vaccinated/dewormed and received preventatives. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Juicy has repeatedly shown shelter staff a sweet, calm and easy-to-handle side. She often greets people with a wagging tail, relaxed body and soft, happy expression. She is generally quiet in her kennel, easy to leash, and walks nicely on a loose leash. She may occasionally jump up but has been easily redirected with treats.
