She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a female Pitbull and gave a show of teeth warning. She began to roam the yard to herself and explore. She was wary of dogs approaching her and would constantly create space from them. She continued to be wary of dogs approaching her, creating space from them, or snapping at them. She maintained this defensive behavior for the rest of her time in the yard. She did not approach the handlers in the yard and kept her distance. She climbed into the pool a couple of times and enjoyed time in there. She appears under socialized around other dogs. Due to this and her defensive behavior, she would likely do best as the only dog in the home. See handling assessment for further stipulations. The handler knelt and called to her, but she did not approach. The handler approached her and picked up her leash. She allowed the handler to pet her head with no reaction, but she was head shy. When the handler checked her teeth with no reaction. She allowed the handler to check her ears with no reaction. When the handler touched any of her paws, she would pull them away. When the handler touched her tail, she sat down. She displayed no negative behavior toward the handler, but she is very timid and needs a go-slow approach. She appears under socialized around both people and dogs. She was retumed to her kennel without issue. Due to her need for a slow approach and need for more socialization, she would do best in an adult only home. She will also need socialization to being on leash.
