I arrived at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter on 08/24/2026 from San Bernardino. I came into the shelter with the name, Armani. Deadline 9/5/26 for being afraid and biting animal control officer who was using a catchpole to confine. This dog is an owner surrender 🙁 Behavior observed: Fearful dog, tail tucked, scared to walk on leash, bit while trying to leash muzzle. Catch- pole used to offload from truck for ACO safety. MC Confinement method: Catch-pole. MC 08/26/2026 BEHAVIOR Bite report: The animal control officer, stated she responded to a call from SBPD. While leash muzzling dog ACO was bitten in the right forearm causing 1 puncture. 08/27/2026 BEHAVIOR Performed a recheck on this dog today. As handler approached, dog presented with head down, whale eyed, lip licking, tail tucked and averted gaze. Despite coaxing dogs would not engage with handlers. Dog appears to exhibit fearful behavior 08/27/26 Due to documented behavior this dog needs rescue intervention to provide behavioral assessment and support, and to ensure appropriate placement. She must exit the shelter with a rescue organization by 9/5/26 at 2PM.
