Her owner history forms show that she was originally found as a stray and taken in. She lived with 5 other large dogs and a 2yr old without any issue and is reportedly housetrained and kennel trained too! She also stays in 4ft fence when outside. Despite her many positive qualities Maize is at risk at Kansas Humane Society due to testing Heartworm positive on intake.😩 She is PAST her issued a deadline of 8/14 to find a foster or adopter willing to help give her a place to stay and recover. VETERINARY CLINIC PULL ONLY - HW+ Meet Maize, a 5-year-old girl who weighs 51 lbs! She's described as being shy around new people, independent, and mellow, although she loved being in my lap and getting belly rubs! She's lived with 5 large dogs, as well as a 2-year-old child, all of whom she got along with. She loves Milkbones, pets, cuddling, and hanging out on the couch. She's house and kennel-trained, and she will use the doggy door when she needs to go potty. Maize has no other health concerns other than being heartworm positive. She received her Bordetella and DA2PP on 08/08/2026. Per the Kansas Department of Agriculture's regulations, they can only be transferred to a veterinary clinic until they are deemed healthy and can be transferred to a rescue.
