However, during his assessment, Chester became tense, retreated from handlers and thrashed mildly when the handler attempted to place a collar on him. Chester was recently returned to the care center due to some behaviors he presented in the home. During his current stay in the care center, Chester has been observed to have a low threshold for arousal, noted to jump up high onto handlers at face level with an open mouth. This behavior is very difficult to redirect. Due to the detailed behavior we recommend an experienced adult only home. A staff member writes: Chester is a fun-loving, enthusiastic boy with a zest for life! He's always excited to get out and explore, loves sniffing around on walks, and enjoys learning new things. He's already practicing cues like "sit" and "down" and has even started clicker training, showing he's eager to engage with his handlers-especially when treats are involved! Chester is looking for an active family who can continue building his manners while embracing his goofy, affectionate personality.
