After some time to decompress in the side yard, he showed a neutral body, soft eyes, and a gentle presence. He allowed full handling?ears, mouth, abdomen, legs, and tail?without any issues ππΎ. Boogie wasn?t especially people-seeking but remained polite and easygoing throughout. He is pending dog-to-dog assessment, is OK for public adoption, and adults-only are recommended. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.? Boogie was lying down, but stood up to greet the runner. His body was relaxed, his eyes were soft, and his tail was neutral with a loose wag. He was easy to leash and remove from the kennel, pulled moderately on leash while bypassing the other kennels, and was easy to collar. In the catch pen, his body was neutral, his eyes were soft, and his tail was neutral with a soft wag. He entered the yard, and exchanged appropriate greetings with the other dogs. He engaged in very pushy play with the other dogs. He was corrected by a pushy female, which quickly tipped into a fight. He was easy to steer, but the other dog tried to re-engage a few times. The other dog was removed from the yard, and Boogie was given some time to play and recover after the altercation. He continued to engage in very pushy and vocal play, and required some steering from the handlers to continue to play nicely. He had a hard time finding playmates, and continued to require steering from the handlers. He was sent to medical for a minor puncture to his ear before he was returned to the kennel. Boogie is tolerant of the other dogs, has a medium energy level, and prefers a rough/rowdy playstyle. Boogie displayed a neutral body, neutral tail, natural ear set, and soft eyes. The handler was able to pet Boogie without issue but did not seem interested in the handler. The handler was able to examine Boogie?s ears, mouth, abdomen, back, lower extremities, and tail without incident. Boogie maintained a neutral demeanor throughout the assessment and was returned to his kennel without issue. Boogie is pending dog to dog assessment. Boogie is ok for public adoption adults only recommended medium energy level.
