Darrow

Darrow is an adoptable male Doberman Pinscher looking for a home at BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. He is a young adult and medium in size. Located At: BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions Description: My name is Darrow. I am a male, black and brown Doberman Pinscher mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 2 years old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 03, 2026. I am in kennel DA16. Weight: 42.6 lbs Intake date: 9/3/2026 ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Darrow is low heartworm positive has a sunken area on the right side/top of his head, suspected to be from previous trauma. The responding officer initially reported that Darrow appeared dazed in the field, but by intake he was bright, alert and responsive and appeared normal. No treatment was recommended for the suspected head trauma at that time. DA2PP-V, Bordetella & Rabies vaccines given Dewormed/Pyrantel Advantage Multi administered ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Even after arriving injured and underweight, Darrow is showing us a happy, social side. He walked on a semi-tight leash with a loose body and wagging tail. In the runs, he became excited, vocalized and jumped up, but when staff returned for him, Darrow greeted them with a wiggly body, wagging tail and relaxed open-mouth panting.
