Monte is an adoptable male Chow Chow looking for a home at Riverside County Animal Services-Riverside in Jurupa Valley, California. He is a young adult and large in size. STAFF OBSERVATIONS 08/26/26 Dog is stiff at front of kennel alarm barking at handler throughout observation. Use caution. 09/01/26 16:47 dog is frontal at kennel growling with pursed lips and a stiff body. Use caution if handling. Sedated with 0.6ml butorphanol IM with 0.6ml Dexdomitor IM per Dr. Mac to assess better since dog is a caution. Appears to have an imbedded nail in the left hind limb dewclaw. Clipped and applied quick stop to the bleeding. Has a small hold in the paw pad. Going to RX 600mg Rilexine PO BID x 10 days per protocol. Gave 2.4ml Carprofen SQ and rx 100mg rimadyl PO SID x 4 days. Trimmed the other dew claws since they looked they were about to grow into paw pad. Reversed sedation in kennel with 0.6ml Antisedan IM, woke up fine. 08/18/26 14:07 BAR, no URI or neuro symptoms observed at this time.
