A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. He was relaxed with soft eyes and a low tail wag as the runner clasped the collar around his neck. He was timid with concered eyes while greeting a few dogs through the fence. He calmly entered the yard and began exploring by himself, showing no interest in the other dogs. After a fewminutes he approached a handler to solicit affection, slightly wary at first but quickly relaxed. He was tense but tolerated a young, male Malinois coming up to greet him. He relaxed after a few seconds but was still wary of his face lingering. He was also tolerant of a playful female pit bull coming up to greet him. As time passed, he relaxed significantly and began approaching the other dogs, exchanging soft greetings. He was enticed for play by the pit bull but declined her invitation. He was also enticed by the Malinois. He pawed and jumped over Lucas trying to entice him for play. Lucas tolerated the contact without reaction. Lucas seemed to prefer sha do wing the handlers and receiving affection as he appears to be unsocialized. He was surrendered with another dog who was causing altercations in the previous home. Lucas needs further socialization. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REC), LOW ENERGY WITH KNOWN HISTORY OF AGGRESSION DISCLOSURE
