A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen, but she was timid and needs a go- slow approach. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by two dogs and tolerated them both sniffing her, but she was timid and had a tucked tail. After the dogs broke away, she began to roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She continued to tolerate dogs approaching her and sniffing her calmly. She was mounted by a male Labrador mix, and she gave an air snap correction. She remained tolerant of calm dogs sniffing her and approaching calmly. If dogs approached her in a fast manner or playfully, she would show teeth and air snap, warning for space. She did not approach the handlers and kept to herself. She will need a very calm dog that will respect her space and boundaries. See handling assessment for further stipulations. The handler knelt and called to her, but she did not approach. The handler approached her and picked up her leash. She allowed the handler to pet her head, but she was head shy at first and then allowed further petting. She allowed the handler to check her teeth with no reaction. She allowed the handler to check her ears with no reaction. She allowed the handler to touch and hft all her paws with no reaction. She allowed the handler to touch her tail with no reaction. She displayed no negative behavior toward the handler, but she is very timid and needs a go-slow approach. She was retumed to her kennel without issue. Due to her need for a slower approach and trust building, she would do best in an adult only home or with older respectful kids. She will also need socialization to walking on leash.
