Pip is an adoptable female Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, Arizona. She is a young adult and medium in size. Bio : Pip is a perky eared pup who, with her pink skin and nose, reminds us of a piglet. Ironically, despite her super sonar style ears, this little gal is hearing impaired. Did you know that white dogs like Pip have a higher likelihood of deafness because the genetic traits that remove pigment from the fur also stop the cells needed for hearing form developing in the inner ear? Science! Don't worry though- Pip's lack of hearing doesn't affect her joy for life!! During a brief adoption we learned that Pip may prefer a home without kiddos, which makes sense since young children may not understand how to appropriately interact with a hearing impaired dog. Pip is still a puppy who needs typical puppy training and boundaries, but that looks just a bit different with a special girl like her. In fact, Pip has been working with a dedicated volunteer to learn hand signals for basic commands like sit and down. Pip has been independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She'll thrive in a home with routine, consistency, and clear visual communication.
