Intake 8/30/2026 How long have you had the animal? PET WAS FOUND THIS MORNING, SOURCE STATES PET CAME RIGHT UP AND WAS FRIENDLY. ALLOWED PETTING What are the cross streets where you found the animal? PET WAS FOUND ON AZ 74 AND LAKE PLEASANT PKWY Is this animal currently showing any signs of illness, taking any medication, or has the animal been diagnosed with a medical or behavioral condition? NO, THOUGH PET DID AIR SNAP WHEN TAKING SOURCES FOOD Has the animal shown any signs of aggression toward people or animals? WHILE SOURCE WAS EATING PET TOOK A BURRITO FROM FINDER, SHE AIR SNAPPED WHEN SOURCE ATTEMPTED TO TAKE FOOD BACK. Evaluation Comments (Observations from our staff and volunteers) 9/5/2026 Dog was at front of kennel; front paws on kennel door; offered treat through kennel; got paws off kennel door; allowed for easy leashing; exited; moderate pull; froze; started growling at kennels; hackles raised; body posture forward; applied leash pressure; continued walking. In yard, dog explored; soft body; tail wagging; open mouth; urinated; defecated; handler picked feces up; dog approached as handler was disposing waste; airsnapped near handler's hand; went back to exploring; occasionally would approach handler; jumped up on handler briefly; handler pivoted away; dog continued exploring. Dog would approach handler several times and would nudge handler's hand while briefly lip curling would remain standing next to handler. Would allow handler to pet each time. Dog continued to explore. Noticed staff walking past; approached yard fence; followed along yard fence; handler verbally coaxed; handler walked over to yard gate; dog approached; picked leash up; allowed for petting along back; added clip leash; exited yard. Exiting yard, a dog in neighboring yard began alarm barking; this dog started growling & alarm barking; pulled towards yard; used leash pressure; dog continued walking; moderate pull; stopped; started growling; hackles raised; used leash pressure to continue walking; did not enter kennel; focused on neighbor; growling; used leash pressure; dog pulled away; guided towards kennel; dog walked in; removed leash with clip leash. 9/4/2026 Dog approached handler with soft body and wagging tail, ignored treats. Sniffed leash then came forward and allowed placement. Dog exited kennel, stopped in front of reactive dogs with hackles raised, tense and growling, used light leash pressure to redirect and continue walking. After exploring yard dog approached handler, soft body and wagging tail, ignored treats, allowed petting all over, dog then stood against handler, became tense, ears pinned, scanned surroundings, tried using verbal cue \"off\" but dog would not leave handler, while picking up leash to redirect off dog gave a couple quick air snaps towards hand, handler then redirected off with leash pressure and kept hold of leash, dog softened up with wagging tail, allowed more pets, while waiting to exit yard dog stood and placed front paws on handler's back, able to step away and exit yard, no issues walking to building, once inside dog became tense, hackles raised, growling towards reactive dogs, entered kennel and allowed handler to remove leash by hand. 9/1/2026 Requesting full eval based on finder notes. 8/31/2026 walks on leash, allows all petting, allows all handling, solicits attention from handlers, solicits attention from male and female handlers on ramp, jumpy, seeks petting, pulls on leash, interested in barking dogs, resisted entering kennel, demand barks then settles, grumbled at neighboring dogs in along way to kennel Name: Rose Animal ID: A5170811 Breed: BROWN BELG MALINOIS/MIX Sex: Female Age: 2Y 1M Weight: 60.2 lbs Kennel: West Kennel, Wing G - 226 Intake Date: 8/30/2026 Deadline Date: 9/13/2026
