Magnolia is an adoptable female German Shepherd looking for a home at Los Angeles County - Downey in Downey, California. She is a young adult and large in size. She kept to herself. She roamed the yard quietly. She walked away from the dogs and handlers anytime they walked towards her. If the handler got close to her, she would run away from her. She was uninterested in playing with the dogs but was able to co-exist with them as long as they gave her, her space. Magnolia was tolerant of the dogs and does not have a playstyle at this time. See handling assessment. Behavior: Magnolia continued to growl, her body was tense, her tail was tucked and her ears were slightly pinned back. She stared and was focused on the handler, she continued to growl anytime the handler pet her. At this point to not overwhelm her anymore, she was taken back to her kennel. Due to handling sensitivity Magnolia will be rescue only. Magnolia A5796417 barked on the runner when she noticed her (she was on the inside of the kennel and runner greeted her on outside). The runner moved aside to hide from Magnolia, Magnolia stepped to the outside of the kennel and the runner was able to close the divider. She remained in the back with a stoic demeanor. She was avoidant of the leash when the runner attempted to leash her, she eventually shut down and allowed the runner to place the leash on her. She walked out of the kennel but required gentle leash guidance and coaxing. In the catch pen when she was introduced to the dogs, she greeted them with a stoic demeanor. Magnolia A5796417 ran away from the handler anytime she approached her, the handler had to use the leash to move her closer to her. Magnolia's body was tense, her eyes were focused with dilated pupils and her tail was low with no wag. When the handler reached down to pet her head, Magnolia closed her mouth and growled at her. The handler used the assessment hand after that. The handler reached down to gently pet her head, Magnolia continued to growl, her body was tense, her tail was tucked and her ears were slightly pinned back.
