Fatts A5800561 (Intact) was at the rear of the kennel with a timid demeanor, unwilling to approach when the runner arrived. The runner was required to fully step into the kennel in order to leash Fatts; however, she refused to exit on her own. She began to pull back on the leash as the runner attempted to slowly guide her out of the kennel. Once outside, Fatts became overwhelmed in the kennel environment, so she was transported to the catch pen in a roll cart. She received a collar and leash without issue inside the catch pen. After entering the yard, she isolated herself from the other dogs, appearing fully shut down in a corner of the yard. She allowed herself to be petted by the handler, maintaining a timid demeanor during the interactions. For the rest of the session, Fatts remained in the same area, showing no interest in the other dogs, though tolerating them when they approached to sniff her. Once the session concluded, Fatts was taken back to her kennel in a roll cart, as she continued refusing to walk on leash. Due to her nervous nature and lack of leash training, Fatts could benefit from confidence-building training.
