Cutie is an adoptable female Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler looking for a home at Los Angeles County - Lancaster in Lancaster, California. She is fully grown and medium in size. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a female Pitbull and tolerated her sniffing her, but she was tense. After she walked away, she began to roam the yard and explore. She was approached playfully by a male Pitbull. She had concemed eyes and tried to create space from him. He continued to follow her playfully and she tried to create space from him a couple of times. When he continued to follow her and linger in her face, she gave a hard air snap correction and put one front paw on him. He respected her correction and he displayed passive appeasement behavior. She then continued to roam the yard. She mostly kept to herself for the rest of her time in the yard, but she was more tolerant of very calm dogs. She did not approach the handlers in the yard and kept her distance. She would do best with a very calm dog that will respect her space and boundaries. The handler knelt and called to her, but she did not approach. The handler approached her and picked up her leash. She allowed the handler to pet her head, but she was head shy. When the handler tried to check her teeth; she would tum her head away. When the handler touched her ears, she would flinch. When the handler touched any of her paws, she would quickly pull them away. When the handler touched her tail, she tucked it. She was retumed to her kennel without issue. She displayed no negative behavior toward the handler, but she is very timid and needs a go-slow approach. Due to her need for a slower approach, trust building and her handling sensitivities, she would do best in an adult only home.
