She has shown that enrichment and getting outside can help her settle. Outside of the kennel, a different Leslie emerges. Staff describe a very wiggly, happy and friendly girl who is excited to get out, allows easy leashing and has walked on a loose leash. She has an open-mouth smile, enjoys attention and has even slowly leaned into pets. After one morning potty break, Leslie returned to her kennel and quietly slept on her bed until activity around her increased again ' suggesting the busy shelter environment is taking a toll on her.
