Memo 9/10/2026 09/10/26 12:06 Canine has shown over-arousal and is becoming difficult to manage safely while in care. Placement with a New Hope Partner is required by close of business 9/15/26 to allow for behavioral support and assessment in a different setting. May be at risk for euthanasia 9/16/26 or sooner if warranted. 7/15/2026 07/15/26 15:44 Chronic skin disease. Dog is at risk of humane euthanasia on 7/23/26 if no outlet is found by COB on 7/22/26. Dog may be humanely euthanized earlier if QOL declines. 07/22/26 16:00 Skin markedly improved on exam today. Removing from portal at this time. Evaluation Comments (Observations from our staff and volunteers) 9/9/2026 Dog approached handler, tense body and stiff wagging tail, sat when given verbal cue, eagerly took treats from hand. Grabbed and pulled leash when trying to place, able to distract with hot dogs and quickly place leash. Dog exited kennel and immediately began jumping up and biting leash. Grabbed leash and began pulling, wouldn't settle. Due to high arousal handler returned dog back to kennel, dog settled and allowed handler to remove leash by hand. 9/8/2026 *Responding to call for assistance over radio* Dog was inside of kennel with leash attached while handler was holding onto leash. Dog was overaroused, wide eyed, heavy panting, tense bodied with wagging tail, when kennel door was opened dog exited erratically and began immediately biting at leash, redirecting towards handlers while lunging forward towards leash, dogs attention was primarily fixated on leash, biting at leash and tugging on leash. Recovered leash from handler and able to guide dog back into kennel with some leash pressure. Dog settled once inside of kennel, would allow handler to remove leash by hand. 9/1/2026 Solicited attentions, Playful, Moderate to pull from kennel, Used clip lead to return to kennel, Played with toys, Somewhat Pulls on Leash, High Energy, Ignored dogs when walking past kennels, Sit, Very friendly and social, loves toys. The only issue was his tendency to grab the leash when walking. He had a great time in the yard fetching tennis balls. Better leash manners on the way back but decided to use clip leash to make things easier 8/8/2026 Solicited attentions, Playful, Easy to pull from kennel, Easy to return to kennel, Played with toys, Takes treats nicely, Somewhat Pulls on Leash, High Energy, Appeared interested when walking past kennels, Sit, SHALE: Calm on approach, leashed w/all 4 on floor, throws stuffies in the air and plays a lot, affectionate, allowes on handling, easy leash retrieval on return 8/1/2026 Canine brought to c sick yard post hydrotherapy on scrotum to walk/dry. Easy to leash. Moderate pull on leash. Allows petting/handling all over. In yard canine was slightly running around playing with the rocks by putting some in e-collar & then tossing upward. Easy release & return to kennel. 7/26/2026 K9 was easy to leash and remove from kennel. K9 had a strong pull to the play yard. Once inside the play yard K9 began playing with the toys and running around the yard. K9 enjoyed playing fetch and also took treats nicely. K9 knows Sit and and Stay. K9 would drop any toy in his mouth for treats. K9 allowed some petting but spent most time playing around the yard. K9 had a strong pull back to kennel and easy return. 7/22/2026 Solicited attentions, Playful, Easy to pull from kennel, Easy to return to kennel, Played with toys, Fetch toys, Takes treats nicely, Somewhat Pulls on Leash, Calm, Ignored dogs when walking past kennels, Sit, likes to fetch and play, walks between your legs, leans in for pets, friendly with everyone he saw, nice manners 7/14/2026 Solicited attentions, Playful, Easy to pull from kennel, Easy to return to kennel, Played with toys, Takes treats nicely, Strong Pull on Leash, Ignored dogs when walking past kennels, Sit, in yard playful liked rope toy did not bring it to handler got the zoomies came in for pets 7/11/2026 Dog was at front of kennel, slight paw lift, shook off, wagging tail vertically, demand barked at handler, sniffed handler through door with ears back and quickly wagging tail, lip licked and shifted in place, took treats gently, continued to wag tail at spine level.
