ID #A2096086 Female | 2 years old Chihuahua Shorthair Mix | Brown Weight: 15 lbs Intake: 9/12/26 Status: RESCUE ONLY ⸻ 🩺 MEDICAL NOTES: Pumpkin was medically noted as NORMAL at intake. She tested heartworm negative and received DA2PP, Bordetella and rabies vaccines, deworming, pyrantel and Advantage Multi. Her biggest struggle at BARC isn't medical ' Pumpkin is terrified. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Pumpkin appears completely overwhelmed by the shelter environment. She has repeatedly been found pressed against the kennel wall or cowering in a corner, trembling with wide/whale eyes, ears back, low head and tucked tail. She avoids eye contact and tries to hide her face in the corner when approached. Although staff have been able to leash her, she remains extremely tense and frightened, flinching and scurrying away when someone attempts to pick her up. On 9/14, Pumpkin was so scared that she reportedly didn't move from her spot against the wall all day. Staff left her undisturbed when possible to reduce her stress.
