Chloe is an adoptable female German Shepherd looking for a home at Los Angeles County - Downey in Downey, California. She is senior and medium in size. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' Chloe was at the rear of the kennel with a relaxed demeanor and was easy to leash/remove from the kennel. Chloe was taken to the catch pen and was able to be collared/leashed without incident. Chloe greeted the dogs at the barrier with a neutral demeanor and was allowed into the play yard. Chloe displayed a neutral body, open mouth pant, natural ear set, neutral tail, and soft eyes. She allowed the dogs to gather and greet her, maintaining a neutral demeanor. Chloe was given play bows, but she did not appear interested. Chloe moved on and continued to socialize and explore. Chloe approached the handlers a few times to solicit petting from them. Chloe maintained a relaxed and social demeanor but did not engage in play. Chloe was able to co-exist in the play yard displaying no play style at this time. Chloe could benefit from further socialization and confidence building.
