***DEADLINE. MUST EXIT SHELTER BY 5PM THUR 9/24*** I am a neutered male, 56.70 lbs, black and white Australian Cattle Dog mix. I have been at the shelter since Aug 15, 2026. I am an at risk animal. Please contact the shelter for more information. Behavior Can you help Buck? transferdas@rivco.org Breed: Australian Cattle Dog mix Age: The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 2 months old. STAFF OBSERVATIONS 09/02/26 Went to move dog to new kennel. Dog was at front of kennel soliciting attention from handler. Dog allowed handler to leash and move to new kennel with no issues. 09/11/26 Dog participated in play group assessment today. Dog was observed giving appropriate greetings and was very playful in duration of entire play period. MEDICAL NOTES 07/22/26 INTAKE: General Attitude: BAR, HBC, Limping on RTL, go slow, scared Eyes: Normal Ears: Normal Nose: Normal Throat: Normal Mouth/Teeth: Normal Skin: Normal External Parasites: None seen Haircoat: dirty Nails: Normal Legs: Normal Gait: limping on RFL Tail: Normal Body: Normal Body Condition (1to 9): 4/9 Altered: Intact Breathing: Normal Coughing/Sneezing/Nasal discharge: None Vomiting/Diarrhea: None Pain score(CSU pain scale): 3/4 Major concerns summary: Came in stating that he got hit by a car 3 weeks ago. Limping on right front limb. Nervous when handling, came on catch pole. Gave 0.8ml Morphine IM and 0.5ml Dexdomitor IM to sedate for rads per Dr.. Gave 2.2ml Carprofen SQ and 2.6ml Cerenia SQ. Took front limb radiographs and appears to have a R/U fracture and humurus fracture on the right front limb. NO splint needed per Dr.. RX gaba 400mg PO BID x 10 days, 100mg Rimadyl PO SID X 5 days, 0.57ml Simbadol IM BID x 3 days. VE Weight: Done Photo: Taken Scanned for Microchip: None found Intake vaccines: Done, Da2pp + L4, Bordetella Rabies vaccine: N/A Lot #: Expiration: Flea control/tick: Done, Advantage II 07/23/26 11:23 RAD reviewed : - chronic fracture in right proximal radius and mid ulna - seemingly almost healed. - chronic fracture in right mid-distal humerus, spiral contacted rescue for proper orthopedic sx for humerus if possible for best outcome for mobility consider front limb amputation if no rescue found continue with pain control in the meantime. 07/24/26 08:38 QAR, go slow. Able to walk outside, will try to bite leash. BM 6/7 FS. Both bowls empty and overturned, unable to determine if urine or water spilled in kennel. Did not observe pt eating food this AM. 07/25/26 06:53 e/d normal, observed normal levels of urine, no stool present. took pt on for walk, limping is still present, bm score 5/7 07/25/26 14:58 BAR, limping RFL, mc scan -. Ok to stay for sx. per Sr. ASR, ACO will discuss NOV. 07/26/26 06:49 Ate and Drank normal, Urination normal, Diarrhea 6/7 score on walk 07/26/26 09:19 patient being monitored for injury for possible hbc, patient was seen by dvm in 7/23, per dvm patient need proper orthopedic sx for humerus. currently patient does walk but with slight limp, e/d okay, last bm on 7/26 but reported having diaherra, possibly from rx'd medication. will monitor fs, but patient does not appears dehydrated. - patient waiting for sx to go back home to Owner with nov for existing injuries 07/26/26 10:59 Moved to sally port. Had diarrhea outside, gave proviable capsule in food. 07/27/26 08:54 Pt housed in sallyport, growling when approached kennel, standing with RFL limp, BM 5/7 FS in kennel. Appears to have eaten/drank overnight. No v/c/s noted. Currently on Gaba, rimadyl/simbadol ended. Able to walk on a leash when approached slowly, 6/7 FS outside(4th day with loose stool)urine WNL, pt appeared to perk up outside, wanting to run around and putting pressure on RFL while walking. 07/27/26 11:29 Unable to giardia test at this time, no stool in kennel and pt is a go slow, growling when approached. Per Dr., no simbadol/rimadyl RX necessary at this time. 08/16/26 08:53 INTAKE: General Attitude: BAR, MM Pink; CAUTION, Go slow; patient growling when approached Eyes: Normal Ears: Normal Nose: Normal Throat: Normal Mouth/Teeth: Normal Skin: Normal External Parasites: None seen Haircoat: Normal Nails: Normal Legs: Normal Gait: minor limp on Right throacic limb; patient has Hx of limp on RTL; rads performed on 7/22/26 which revealed chronic fractures per DVM notes. Tail: Normal Body: Normal Body Condition (1to 9): 4/9 Altered: Neutered Breathing: Normal Coughing/Sneezing/Nasal discharge: None Vomiting/Diarrhea: None Pain score(CSU pain scale): 0/4 Major concerns summary: persistant limp on right thoracic limb (appears to be minor limp at this time). Weight bearing x4 limbs. Weight: Done Photo: Taken Scanned for Microchip: MC confirmed (ending in 0172) Intake vaccines: DappL booster Rabies vaccine: UTD Flea control/tick: Done Other care Provided: Administered 2.2 ml Carprofen SQ and prescribed Gabapentin 300 mg BID x 7 days per protocol. 08/17/26 13:12 persistent lameness in right front limb - due to previous chronic injury already on Gaba
