A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by two dogs and tolerated them sniffing him. After the dogs broke away, he began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs traling him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and began to exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. He would approach the handlers and seek affection He appeared to become playful toward a female shepherd. She appeared overwhelmed and she created space from him. He pursued her and began pushing her, growling, and becoming very mouthy on her. He appeared to be trying to initiate play, but he was extremely pushy. Ahandler broke his focus, and he continued roaming the yard. He then repeated the sameto a male Labradormix. The male was uncomfortable with his behavior and tried to create space. Zero continued and pushed him against the fence, growling and mouthing on him. The male gave him and appropriate show of teeth for space, but he continued with the behavior. The male then gave him an appropnate air snap correction. Zero did not respect this either and continued with the behavior. Ahandler then had to grab is leash and he was removed from the yard. His behavior could very easily escalate with the wrong dog. Due to his behavior toward the other dogs and not respecting their corrections or wamings for space, requining constant monitonng and intervention from the handlers, he would likely do best as the only dog in the home.
