Moomoo is an adoptable male Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Los Angeles County - Baldwin Park in Baldwin Park, California. He is fully grown and medium in size. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out'or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' Moomoo was in the play yard prior to the assessment and was given time to decompress. Moomoo displayed a relaxed body, closed mouth, natural ear set, relaxed tail wag, and soft eyes. He initially appeared wary of the handler but approached with verbal coaxing. The handler was able to pet Moomoo and he appeared to open up and leaned into the handler's touch. The handler was able to examine Moomoo's ears, mouth, abdomen, back, lower extremities, and tail. Moomoo appeared somewhat tense/uncomfortable with his lower extremities being examined but was tolerant. Moomoo allowed further petting post assessment. Moomoo was returned to his kennel without incident. Moomoo appears wary of new people often becoming tense/defensive. Given time and a slow/patient introduction Moomoo becomes open to interactions. Moomoo could benefit from further socialization and confidence building. Moomoo is ok for public adoption adults only required at this time (+KHOA lack of socialization) medium energy level calm dogs recommended.
