Hubert

Hubert is an adoptable male Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Riverside County Animal Services-Riverside in Jurupa Valley, California. He is fully grown and large in size. He is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with only 5 days left, listed due to medical. Adopting Hubert, or even sharing his story, could save a life before it's too late.

I am a male, 77.00 lbs, gray and white Pit Bull Terrier mix. I have been at the shelter since Dec 18, 2025. I am an at risk animal. Please contact the shelter for more information. Medical - growth on front paws - social with staff. Needs an adopter or rescue. Adopters visit in person. Rescues please visit in person or email TransferDAS@rivco.org Kennel card notes: Returned by adopter. Intake exam 09/19/26 Dog presented as injured and was brought to vet staff on a cart. Dog is QAR. When placed on the floor, dog was able to stand and bear weight on x4 limbs but was reluctant/unwilling to ambulate more than a few steps. Intermittent knuckling of bilateral rear paws noted. Due to limited ambulation and bilateral rear limb abnormalities, concern for possible soft tissue injury, orthopedic injury, spinal injury, or other neurologic impairment. Dog is overweight, which may also be contributing to difficulty with mobility. Further dx & tx are needed beyond what can currently be provided in the shelter environment. Several areas of moist dermatitis noted beneath the skin folds of the neck. Affected areas were clipped, cleaned with dil' chlorhexidine sol'n, and allowed to air dry. AU were dirty and were flushed with ear cleaner. Dog was very cooperative with examination and tx. Offered canned food, which dog ate readily. Admin 1.0mL Ampicillin SQ and 2.6cc Rimadyl SQ. Will provide supportive care and closely monitor demeanor, mentation, appetite/water intake, ability to stand and ambulate, and overall condition. Rx: Cephalexin 250mg (3 capsules) po BID x14 days & Rimadyl 150mg po SID x7 days per protocol. Breed: Pit Bull Terrier mix Age: The shelter staff think I am about 5 years old.
