More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 20, 2026. I am in kennel DD36. His right leg appeared shorter than the left, with marked muscle atrophy, suggesting this may be an older injury. 💔 Radiographs revealed that Jay's right hip is dislocated and his right acetabulum may also be damaged. BARC notes that he will need consultation with an orthopedic surgeon to determine his treatment options. He is currently receiving Carprofen 75 mg once daily for 10 days and Gabapentin 200 mg twice daily for 10 days for pain management. ⚠️ Jay also tested HIGH POSITIVE for heartworms. ⸻ 🐾BEHAVIOR NOTES: Despite coming into the shelter with a painful orthopedic injury, Jay was able to be examined and receive his initial medical workup, vaccinations and radiographs.
