Buddy is a male dog who presented with a comminuted fracture of the right tibia, with an additional fracture of the right fibula. This is a severe orthopedic injury requiring prompt surgical evaluation and intervention. Buddy will require either amputation of the affected limb or specialized orthopedic surgery to repair the fractures. Without appropriate treatment, he is at risk for significant pain, complications, and impaired mobility. This level of specialized surgical care and postoperative recovery support exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite his injury, Buddy remains resilient and is doing his best while receiving supportive care. Buddy needs a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive immediate veterinary and orthopedic evaluation, definitive surgical treatment, pain management, and appropriate postoperative recovery care to restore his comfort and mobility.
