Pumpkin

Pumpkin is an adoptable female Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is a young adult and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with just one day left, listed due to other. Adopting Pumpkin, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

Intake Info: Pumpkin A2344127 was seen wandering in a neighborhood and was reported to be limping with poor mobility in her hind legs. When approached, she initially displayed whale eye and was hesitant to allow handling, so precautions were taken. Once safely contained, Pumpkin relaxed and displayed loose body language, allowing her to be loaded into the truck without concern. She was scanned for a microchip, but none was found. Medical: Pumpkin is approximately 3 years old and heartworm positive. She has chronic dermatitis with crusty skin and yeast in her ears. She does not appear to be itchy but does have hair missing on her tail. She also has an underbite. Behavior Notes: Pumpkin is a super sweet girl who loves attention and affection. She came into the yard and immediately sought out people, happily sitting in laps and giving kisses. She had a loose, neutral body and wagging tail when approached in her kennel and allowed staff to leash her easily. She enjoys being pet all over, knows 'sit,' and is non-reactive to people walking by. She has socialized with Emmet, Destiel, Gideon, Julia, Foxtrot, and Thor. She is easily steerable with the spray bottle. She came into the yard with Destiel; they greeted each other and then independently explored the yard. Volunteer Notes: A total sweetheart! Pumpkin was excited and frisky in the yard and will sit for a treat. Staff Notes: Sweet girl!
