Hughie

Hughie is an adoptable male Terrier looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. He is still very young and medium in size. Evaluation Notes: 09/15/2026 - Dog is laying in kennel upon approach with a relaxed body. As handler enters kennel to greet, he communicates for space by barking and snapping at handler with a tense body, pinned ears and a lowered head. He is interested in treats offered to him on ground and sits up in kennel as I enter and sit in kennel. He flinches and barks as I touch his side where he is given space. Upon re-approach, he displays reactivity toward handlers at barrier by barking and snapping through barrier with a tense body, wide eyes, and pinned ears. He is able to be transferred into transport crate for routine husbandry.
