With the dog still under general anesthesia, radiographs were taken. Radiographic interpretation: Fracture of right femoral head with significant numbers of callus around rim of acetabulum, the head of the femur and the neck. The left femoral head is subluxated and there are osteophytes present on femoral head. Increased soft tissue density around the right calcaneal tuber and a circular density or calcification in the region of the calcaneal tendon. The left calcaneal tuber is rough on the surface with calcification in the tendon and soft tissue thickening around it. The lesions are consistent with old trauma to both hind limbs and hip dysplasia on the left side. The dog needs follow up with an orthopedist to develop a treatment plan. Is not available for foster but can be adoptable as long as adopters are fully aware of all the medical issues. Place dog on portal, urgent medical. Marked irregular osseous proliferation/remodeling of the L calcaneal tuber with adjacent small mineralized fragments/opacities noted and surrounding soft tissue thickening.
