Luna

Luna is an adoptable female Siberian Husky looking for a home at San Antonio Animal Care Services in San Antonio, Texas. She is a young adult and medium in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list and today is the last day, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Luna, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

Evaluation Notes: 09/27/2026 - Continuing to work with dog Luna barks upon approach with a tense body and is easily secured in 1 side of her kennel to move her away from the front of the kennels where other dogs are barking. She easily allows me to leash her and she walks outside into the yard. She is not interested in offered treats. She is not interested in affection and flinches away from any movement/noise. She is able to sit next to me where she vocalizes and huffs at times seemingly stressed. As she begins to adjust, she walks around the yard and takes treats that were previously placed down. She is easily walked back to her kennel. Once in her kennel, she begins to bark at me again and now growls. Coming back with a safety tool to remove leash, she attempts to rush toward me when I open the kennel door with a loose body. She easily allows me to remove leash with the safety tool.
