To adopt or foster, please complete the pre-screener form below. Inquiries sent directly to ACC will not receive a response. Pre-Screener Form Alphonse is at risk due to behavioral concerns. When Alphonse was initially brought to the Care Centers, he was reported to bare his teeth and lunge toward unfamiliar people who were transporting him. In the Care Centers, Alphonse was generally social with staff and readily accepted treats. He briefly left the Care Centers but was returned following a bite incident that resulted in broken skin to the person's face. Upon his return, Alphonse continued to engage with staff and remained treat-motivated. Medically, Alphonse is healthy at this time. Alphonse arrived at MACC as a stray with no known history. During intake it was reported that he escalated to hard barking, growling, and lunging when found by ESU. While in care, Alphonese was observed to be fearful and become tense during handling. Recently, Alphonse was returned from foster due to a bite incident. Alphonse and the foster parent's friend were sitting on the couch when Alphonse bit them on the face. This resulted in two small marks, one on the chin and one on the nose, that bled. Due to the detailed behavior, we recommend an experienced adult only home. What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy!
