A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.' Oreo greeted the runner with a neutral body, soft eyes, and a soft tail wag. He barked eagerly. He was easy to leash and remove from the kennel, pulled strongly on leash while greeting his neighbors, and was easy to collar. In the catch pen, his body was neutral, his eyes were soft, and his tail wagged excitedly. He entered the yard, and exchanged appropriate greetings with the other dogs. He engaged in play with the other dogs. He tried to mount some of the dogs, but was easy to steer. Oreo is tolerant of the other dogs, has a high energy level, and prefers a rough/rowdy playstyle. He was moved to the side yard, and given a few moments to decompress before the handler entered the yard. He was roaming the yard with a neutral body, and trying to interact with the other dogs through the fence while ignoring the handler. He eventually approached the handler after some coaxing, and stood next to the handler with a neutral body, neutral gaze, an open pant, and a neutral tail. He kept his focus on the dogs in the next yard, but allowed the handler to pet his whole body with no issues. When the assessment was over, he wandered off to explore the yard.
