Lucky has been observed to be highly fearful while in care and has allowed minimal handling. He is noted to thrash intensely while on leash. In his previous home Lucky is reported to escalate to biting when someone touched his face or items in his possession. Lucky's previous owner states that he will jump up to be picked up and held, and he loves chicken. Medically, Lucky is overweight. Lucky came into the care center as an owners surrender due to his behavior concerns and is noted to have a bite history. Lucky has not acclimated well to the kennel environment and has allowed only minimal handling since intake. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
