Tink

Tink is an adoptable female Pit Bull Terrier looking for a home at Prince Georges County Animal Services in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She is a young adult and large in size. She is currently on the shelter's euthanasia list with just one day left, listed due to lack of space. Adopting Tink, or even sharing her story, could save a life before it's too late.

If slow and steady wins the race to your heart, Tink just might be your girl. ❤️ She's a little shy at first, especially around loud noises or unfamiliar situations, but underneath that cautious exterior is a gentle dog who seems to be waiting for someone to show her that the world can be safe. Tink already knows 'sit,' is very motivated by treats, and apparently has some impressive reflexes ' she can catch them right out of the air! 😂🍖 She also walks beautifully on leash and seems much more interested in quietly taking in the sights and sniffing her surroundings than rushing through the world. She went potty several times once she was outside, and in playgroup she mostly kept to herself while still allowing other dogs to sniff her and offering a few polite sniffs in return. 🐶 She doesn't seem pushy or overly social right now ' more like a dog who is still figuring everything out at her own pace. Her body suggests she may have had puppies not too long ago, and honestly, this girl deserves a turn to just be cared for now. What Tink seems to need most is a calm home, some cozy corners, patience, and someone who understands that trust doesn't have to happen overnight. She may not be the dog who throws herself into your lap the first time you meet her. But sometimes the sweetest relationships are the ones you earn slowly. Tink deserves the chance to decompress, feel safe, and show who she really is once the shelter noise is behind her. This sweet little lady is a bit on the shy side at first, especially with loud noises or new situations, but underneath that cautious exterior is a gentle soul just waiting for the right person to show her the world is safe. Tink knows 'sit' and is very motivated by treats ' she's also got impressive reflexes and is great at catching them mid-air! She walks beautifully on a leash, more interested in taking in the sights and sniffing everything than in chasing toys or loving on humans (but that can change!) She's already shown she knows what to do outside, going potty several times and walks well on leash. In playgroup, Tink mostly kept to herself but allowed other dogs to sniff and gave a few sniffs in return ' she's polite, just not quite sure what to make of all of it yet. Her body suggests she had babies not too long ago. What she needs most now is a quiet home where she can decompress, feel safe, and slowly come out of her shell. No loud parties, no sudden chaos ' just patience, cozy corners, and someone who understands that trust takes time.
