She would not walk but was easily placec in a rolling kennel and taken to the catch pen. Once in the pen, she was wary of the runner. With some very light coaxing, she came up to the runner with a low tail wag, soft eyes and began licking her ars and neck. She just needed a go-slow approach, soft voice, and a chance to build some trust. She was easily collared by the runner at this time. She was slightly wary of the dogs who came up to greet her at the fence and lowered her head. She timidly entered the yard, tolerating a small group of dogs who came up to greet her. She was wary of the handlers walking near her and would grunt and huff at them. One of the handlers kneeled in front of her and lightly coaxed her. She came up, licked his hand and allowed him to rub her head. She instantly relaxed and jumped on his side looking for affection. She did not ike being left alone after that and shadowed the handler around, lightly jumping on him for affection and reassurance. She began exchanging good greetings with the other dogs after the handler was able to build her confidence. She was tolerant of energetic dogs coming up to her but declined their invitations for play. Eventually she tried playing with a female pit bull by play bowing and tapping her front feet. Full play did not erupt. She warned up to the other handlers very easily and approached them often to seek affection. She did like to jump on them while receiving affection and will need basic manners training. She was apparently a backyard dog in her previous home with minimal human interaction. She needs a go-slow approach and a chance to build trust, once she has, she is affectionate and very friendly. She also needs basic manners training and confidence building She was much more comfortable with the handlers and runner that she walked back to her kennel while glued to the runner's leg without any pull. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, traming, medical, socialization, and life expenences. She walked next to the handler and entered the catch pen without issue. She began seeking affection as the handler kneeled next to her. The handler was able to look in her ears, view her teeth, hold her paws and hold her tail without any negative or conceming reaction. She resumed seeking affection as the assessment was concluded with a loose body, soft eyes, and an open mouth pant. She walked back to her kennel, glued to the handler's leg without any pull. She needs an initially go-slow approach and a chance to build trust with people. Once she has, she is affection and only aims to please.
