He has been observed pressed into the back of his kennel with a tense body, whale eyes, lip licking and full-body trembling. He has army crawled rather than walked and has needed to be carried or transported in a rolling bin. On 10/4, he remained pancaked on the ground and later scrambled back into his kennel and pressed himself against the wall. Joey: Joey is also very scared and shut down, but there are glimpses of him trying to connect. He trembles, lip licks and army crawls, and has needed to be carried because he will not walk on leash. He accepted treats, responded to baby talk with a tail wag, and even army crawled toward his handler on 10/4. He allowed himself to be picked up and carried without needing a muzzle.
